ARRANGEMENT OF EACH OF THE SYSTEM'S FUNCTIONAL UNITS, ACCORDING TO THEIR NATURE, NUMBER AND CHIEF CHARACTERISTICS
Configurable; Configurability; Options (computing); Option (computing); Software settings; Software options; UniConf; Computer hardware configuration; Software configuration; Configuration of computer systems
In communications or computer systems, a configuration of a system refers to the arrangement of each of its functional units, according to their nature, number and chief characteristics. Often, configuration pertains to the choice of hardware, software, firmware, and documentation.
Configuration interaction
POST-HARTREE–FOCK LINEAR VARIATIONAL METHOD FOR SOLVING THE NONRELATIVISTIC SCHRÖDINGER EQUATION
Configuration interaction singles; Configuration Interaction Singles
Configuration interaction (CI) is a post-Hartree–Fock linear variational method for solving the nonrelativistic Schrödinger equation within the Born–Oppenheimer approximation for a quantum chemical multi-electron system. Mathematically, configuration simply describes the linear combination of Slater determinants used for the wave function.
Configuration space (mathematics)
MODULI SPACE OF N POINTS ON A SPACE M; IF M IS A MANIFOLD, IN GENERAL FORMS AN ORBIFOLD
Fadell's configuration space
In mathematics, a configuration space is a construction closely related to state spaces or phase spaces in physics. In physics, these are used to describe the state of a whole system as a single point in a high-dimensional space.
Software configuration management
TASK OF TRACKING AND CONTROLLING CHANGES IN THE SOFTWARE
Software Configuration Management; Software configuration management/MEE; Software change management; Configuration management system; Software Configuration Management Plan; IEEE 828
In software engineering, software configuration management (SCM or S/W CM) is the task of tracking and controlling changes in the software, part of the larger cross-disciplinary field of configuration management. SCM practices include revision control and the establishment of baselines.

Configuration item

The term configuration item (CI) refers to the fundamental structural unit of a configuration management system. Examples of CIs include individual hardware or software components. The configuration-management system oversees the life of the CIs through a combination of processes and tools by implementing and enabling the fundamental elements of identification, change management, status accounting, and audits. This system aims to avoid the introduction of errors related to lack of testing as well as of incompatibilities with other CIs.
